Sureño gang member arrested near Calexico

CALEXICO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - Border Patrol agents arrested a gang member over the weekend after entering near the Calexico Port of Entry.

U.S. Border Patrol agents say they found the man 18 miles east of the port of entry just after 1 p.m. last Saturday.

Agents apprehended the undocumented immigrants and took him to the nearest station for a background check. Record checks revealed 41-year-old Filemon Perez-Preciado, a Mexican national and a member of the Sureño gang, had prior convictions of carrying a weapon and theft out of Wisconsin.

He was previously removed from the U.S. and now faces new charges.
