CBP Port of San Luis arrested driver and seized drug money

SAN LUIS, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - U.S. Customs and Border Protection Port of San Luis officers arrested a driver before the latter entered Mexico.

In a press release, the arrest was in connection to a seizure of unreported currency; to be exact, $105,000 of suspected drug money.

Furthermore, officers conducting routine inspections had the 31-year-old Jeep Wrangler driver pull off the road for further inspection.

Upon physical inspection, officers then found the $105,000 suspected drug money near the vehicle's fuel tank.

After that, officers seized the cash and arrested the driver.

“Our officers remain diligent in their primary mission of protecting our great nation from terrorists and weapons of terror, while facilitating legal trade and travel.  With the combined use of technology and their unique abilities to quickly identify and respond to rapidly changing scenarios, our CBP Officers consistently demonstrate the highest level of professionalism and expertise in defending and protecting our Nations’ borders," said San Luis Port Director John Schwamm.

“They simply do an incredible job.”
