Imperial PD sergeant graduates from FBI Academy

IMPERIAL, Calif. (KYMA) - The Imperial Police Department (IPD) is honoring one of their own for making a historic milestone for the department.

Sgt. Alberto Hernandez is the first member of IPD to attend and graduate from the FBI National Academy.

IPD said the highly respected professional development program is for law enforcement leaders from across the country.

It focuses on leadership, fitness and modern law enforcement practices.

IPD said they are proud to have Sgt. Hernandez represent the department and City of Imperial, saying the accomplishment "sets an example for future leaders."
