City of El Centro warns of citations, costly violations

Issues surrounding vacant property registration

EL CENTRO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - The City of El Centro announced Friday it will be issuing citations to property owners who do not register their vacant property.

Administrative fines for each violation of sections 7-136 and 7-137 shall be $500 and $1000 per day for residential and non-residential properties, respectively; for the first violation within a 12-month period.

A citiation may be imposed for each day the violation continues.

Vacant property registration forms may be mailed or submitted to City of El Centro Code Enforcement Division at 1275 W. Main St.

Forms may also be emailed to codeenforcement@cityofelcentro.org.
