“It’s generally very safe. I’ve lived here for about six years and you don’t see this happening a lot," said one neighbor.

Details

LACSD detectives say at around 11:45am Monday, deputies were called area of Crooked Creek Drive. Neighbors said a young man, who lives in the neighborhood, stabbed his mother. She was later taken to the hospital.

“And apparently that she walked down the block before she collapsed," said Jeanette Canton, another neighbor.

Canton says moments later, her sons, who were sitting outside, heard at least three gunshots nearby. LACSD confirms deputies shot a young man. He too was taken to the hospital.

“He said that he didn’t want to live anymore and that he wanted to kill everybody," Canton divulged.

Disbelief

SkyCal video shows detectives investigating what appears to be an a semi-automatic rifle left on diamond bar boulevard. But so far they haven’t revealed how it’s connected.

Canton says she’s in disbelief that her neighbor could be involved in such a horrific crime.

“He seemed like a normal kid. I mean I see him outside, driving. They wash their cars. I’ve seen him with his friends. They have like little race cars...they would be out there," Canton spoke.

According to the Sheriff's Homicide Bureau, no deputies were injured in this incident.
