Starbucks workers on strike over Pride decor

SEATTLE, Wash. (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - Some organized Starbucks workers are striking over claims that the company is not allowing Pride Month decor in cafes.

The Starbucks Workers United says more than 150 stores have pledged to join the strikes, with more than two dozen additional stores still voting on whether to join the strike.

The work stoppages start Friday and will take place over the next week.

Starbucks says the coffee giant has not revised its guidelines for store decorations, calling the union's claims "knowingly misleading."

The union has alleged instances in at least 22 states when workers have not been able to decorate, pointing to social media accounts where workers have documented their claims.
