Three migrants found trying to get around highway checkpoint

Small group says they were told to walk west of the checkpoint

PLASTER CITY, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - US Border Patrol says three people were rescued near Plaster City after being lost and in distress.

At about 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, agents were called about a small group of people who said they were dropped off by a checkpoint and got lost.

The group told agents a description of their location and were found a little over 20 minutes later.

The three people ranged from 26-years-old to 43-years-old and did not need medical assistance.
