Crash brings highway traffic to a crawl

Investigators looking into what caused a crash on Thursday morning that blocked traffic

SOMERTON, Ariz. (KYMA< KECY) - Highway 95 is by far one of the busiest roadways in the Desert Southwest. The more than 1,500 mile stretch links the southern border to our northern neighbors.

So, when an accident happens it can cause severe delays. On Thursday, April 22, 2021, just after 11 a.m., two passenger vehicles collided on Highway 95 and County 16th Street.

Both vehicles sustained heavy front end damage. Authorities tell News 11 one person reported having a head injury.

The crash caused traffic to come to a crawl. Many drivers resorted to using the shoulder to drive around the scene.
