Residents help animal group raise funds

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) A local animal group is asking residents to lend a helping hand in raising money to continue their mission to aid the animals of Yuma.

Earlier Saturday, the Raising Dollars For Dogs and Cats group, had a garage sale at the Arizona market place.

Sherrell Judish, the group's president, said their goal is to raise money to buy vests for police dogs in local law enforcement K-9 units, which usually cost over a thousand dollars.

"We give to emergency veterinarians for emergency funds. We give to old souls who take in old animals. We give to people who rescue cats. And sometimes we give to an outline shelter."

For more information or to donate to Raising Dollars for Dogs and Cats, you contact Sherrell Judish at (928)580-1000.
