Tucson Police respond to bomb threat in Pima County Superior Court

Tucson Police Department (TPD) have declared an all clear, after a potential bomb was reported inside the Pima County Superior Court.

TPD said investigators determined that the unattended backpack found with wires sticking out of it was not a bomb, and people who had been told to evacuate could return, KOLD reports.

Three buildings were evacuated in total, the Pima Count Superior Court and two other county administrative buildings.

The suspicious package was found inside the court building at 8:30 a.m. and was removed by bomb technicians by noon, said TPD.

Investigators are still trying to determine the contents of the package.

Our thanks to @Tucson_Police for its handling of the bomb threat this a.m. Though it was all threat and no bomb, better safe than sorry, as they say. For the two bomb disposal officers who spent their morning handling what could have been a bomb – you guys rock! Thank you.
