Suspect linked to armed robbery arrested

Authorities have arrested a suspect linked to an armed robbery that happened at the Giant gas station located at E. North Frontage Road Sunday night.

The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office said they responded to an armed robbery that occurred at the Giant gas station located at 10800 E. North Frontage Road. Deputies determined that an unknown man wearing all black was carrying a large knife had entered the store.

YCSO said the suspect jumped over the counter, stuck a knife to the side of the cashier and demanded the money. The cashier cooperated and was uninjured.

The suspect fled the gas station with an undisclosed amount of money.

YCSO detectives responded to the scene and located evidence that led them to a home in the 10700 block of South Amber Drive where the suspect was located.

The suspect, 23-year-old Jimmy McMullin, was arrested and booked into the Yuma County Detention Center for armed robbery and aggravated assault.
