Man suffers shark bites previously attacked by bear
A Colorado man can now say he’s the ultimate survivor, after he survived a bear attack and a shark attack.
Dylan McWilliams is still unsure whether he is lucky or unlucky.
“I don’t know, I think [I’m] just lucky in unlucky situations,” 20-year-old McWilliams said on Sunday.
McWilliams is currently in Hawaii on a two-week long vacation. On Thursday, he said he was out in the Kauai waters when something hit his leg.
“I was looking around and saw a lot of blood and I saw a shark underneath me,” he said.
He was out from shore by himself.
“The scariest part was just swimming back,” he added.
When he made it back to the shore, McWilliams said a woman on the beach helped contact emergency officials. Dylan ended up with seven stitches to close the wound.
This isn’t his first time dealing with wild animals.
Last summer, Dylan worked as a survival skulls instructor at a camp in Boulder County. Dylan said a bear attacked him while he was sleeping in his tent.
“A lot of people don’t believe it, they’re like – that’s crazy,” McWilliams said. “How does that happen to one person? Like, that rarely, rarely happens to anyone and — the same person twice.”
Even though he’s had his run-ins with the world’s wildest animals, he said he’s not afraid of wildlife.
As posted on his Instagram, McWilliams considers the late Steve Irwin as one of his idols.
Posing what animal he’ll run in with next?
“…next an alligator?” he wrote on Instagram.
