Relay for Life of Imperial County set for this weekend

Coming up this weekend, cancer survivors, friends, and the community will be taking part in the annual Relay for Life event. The April 14 event will be held at Imperial Valley College.

Relay for Life is a “grass roots, community-based team event,” according the event’s website.

The pre-registration check-in and late registration begins at 9 a.m.

The opening ceremony begins April 14 at 10 a.m., honoring those affected by cancer and everyone who has contributed to the Relay’s success.

Other events include a Survivor/Caregiver Walk, Luminaria Ceremony and a Closing ceremony.

The 24-hour relay will last until Sunday, April 15 at 10 a.m.
