CBP officers arrest bicyclist attempting to smuggle meth

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers arrested a border crosser Friday after attempting to smuggle methamphetamine on a bicycle at the San Luis Port of Entry.

Officers at the pedestrian lanes referred a 50-year-old Mexican man with a bicycle for an additional search as he tried to enter the U.S. from Mexico on Friday evening.

A CBP canine alerted to the bicycle frame that led officers to find just more than one pound of methamphetamine, worth $3,200.

The bike and drugs were seized. The man was arrested and turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
