Save our Schools group circulating petition

Last April Governor Ducey signed Voucher Bill 1431 which recently became a law providing public funds to students to use on private-school tuition, and other educational services.

As a result of this new law many public schools could face drainage of their current budget which would mean that fewer students would be able to enroll into the public school system.

The program is currently facing some resistance from “Save Our Schools Arizona” a Phoenix based organization that focuses on prioritizing public education.

Save our Schools is currently circulating a petition to gather 75,000 signatures for the voucher bill to go on the ballot and have Arizona voters decide whether they want it or not.

House Representative Charlene Fernandez said, she is confident that the citizens of Arizona do not want this bill to pass and is convinced that once it is up on the ballot it will be overturned.

For more information contact Charlene Frnandez via facebook @charleneforarizona the deadline for submission will be the 31st of July .
