Three suspects connected to alleged armed robbery make court appearance

Three men said to be connected to an armed robbery at a Chevron gas station in Yuma made their second court appearance Thursday.

23-year-old Juan Avila, 24-year-old David Deranian, and 23-year-old Joel Rascon all appeared from custody.

The three men face six alleged felony charges: two counts of armed robbery, two counts of aggravated robbery, and two counts of aggravated assault. In addition to those six counts, Avila faces two other felony counts of possession of a dangerous drug, as well as possession of drug paraphernalia involving meth.

Deranian’s bond is set at $100,000. Avila and Rascon face bonds of $200,000 each.

The three defendants are set to appear back in court April 7 for their preliminary hearing.
