Deputies said a call came in on Sunday afternoon, at about 4:07 p.m. of a vehicle in the Gila Gravity canal.

“Deputies located the vehicle and determined that the vehicle appeared to have been in the water for some time and was consistent with the vehicle size in the John Burkett missing person case,” according to the Sheriff’s office.

Deputies said, “the pink and grey camouflaged Suzuki Samari was recovered on Monday morning at about 11:30 a.m.”

No remains were found inside or near the vehicle.
