Man wanted for lewd acts with a minor arrested at port of entry

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at the Calexico downtown port of entry arrested a man wanted in San Diego County for lewd acts with a minor.

Officers say, Felix Barraza, 37, applied to enter the U.S. when officers scanned his finger prints. The information revealed that Barraza was a wanted man.

“Working with our state and local law enforcement partners in detecting fugitives is an important aspect of CBP keeping our communities safe,” Pete Flores, director of field operations for CBP in San Diego, “This partnership resulted in the capture of a man wanted for an alleged atrocious act against an innocent child.”

Once CBP officers confirmed Barraza’s identity, they called Calexico Police Department officers who took him into custody.

Barraza was booked into Imperial County Jail, and his bail was set at $2 million.
