500 Teddy bears donated to YRMC pediatric patients

Foothills Cruiser Car Club rolled up to Yuma Regional Medical Center with 500 teddy bears for pediatric patients.

Pediatric Nurse Tarisai Zivira says this was double the amount of bears donated last year.

“For them it’s priceless, when we give them these teddy bears, it makes them smile.”

Foothillls Cruisers started this tradition because of personal experience that happened to Richard Craig. A member of the club.

“My granddaughter was brought here for treatment and they gave her a blanket and they said we’re sorry we’re out of bears and it didn’t dawn at me at the moment, but later on, I realize that they need bears.I started collecting from different organizations.

It’s a small gift with a big impact. These teddy bears will be given out to future patients in the pediatric department and in the emergency room.

Craig says,”It just a life long memory that starys with these kids through out through out.”
