Police arrest two more in attempted homicide and armed robbery

Two more people were arrested in connection to an armed robbery and attempted homicide where the suspects led police on a pursuit in a stolen BMW.

Yuma Police Department officials arrested Angel Lomavitu, 26, Andres Cedeno, 22, and Tiffany Crisp, 21, all in suspicion of being involved in the incident.

The incident happened Wednesday last week, when Lomavitu, Cedeno and Crisp allegedly demanded property from a person by brandishing a gun at a corner on Avenue A.

Officers say the gun malfunctioned giving the victim time to run away and call police.

Officers later found the stolen BMW driving around. When police tried to pull them over, the driver hit the gas leading police on a pursuit that eventually was canceled for security reasons.

The driver led police to the Ocean-To-Ocean bridge and drove into California. Officers say the car was later found abandoned and recovered in Winterhaven.

Lomavitu was the only one who was arrested the night of the incident.

Police encourage anyone with information on this case to call the Yuma Police Department at (928) 373-4700 or 78-Crime to remain anonymous.
