Four undocumented immigrants rescued from desert

Four undocumented immigrants were rescued from the desert by U.S. Border Patrol agents.

The men were reported at 4:15 p.m. Saturday after someone saw them walking and sitting along the railroad tracks north of Ocotillo.

Agents say they were able to find the men at 5:10 p.m. The men were thirsty and had no water.

Agents say they provided water and medical attention to the group.

“People tend to underestimate the danger of the desert climate,” said David S. Kim, Assistant Chief Patrol Agent of the El Centro Sector.

The four men, all Mexican nationals, were taken into custody for processing.
