Miss Glendale 2025 hosts Tiny Dancers, Big Hearts event

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - A special opportunity for young dancers took place Sunday afternoon in Yuma as girls, ages four through 12, spent the day with Jade Butcher, Miss Glendale 2025.

The event took place at the Yuma Ballet Academy at noon, and featured ballet lessons, learning activities, photo ops and more.

Madi Toms, who is Miss Sunshine City 2025, and Hanna Twomey will also serve as special guests during the event.

KYMA spoke with Butcher, who shared a personal connection to Yuma: "I'm actually a Yuma native. I'm living in Tucson right now because I'm actually a dance major and a finance major at the University of Arizona. But I wanted to come back here to my local ballet studio, Yuma Ballet Academy, to connect with our little ones."

Toms shared the importance of the event saying, "Heart health is so important to everyone. It affects your neighbor, your friend, your aunt, your parents like...so it's important to instill healthy habits at a young age."

During the event, participants with the most donations received the "Miss Pretty Heart" crown as well as have ice cream with Butcher.

Proceeds from the event will go towards the American Heart Association.

The event lasted until 3:00 p.m., but Butcher said she's holding similar masterclasses in Phoenix and Tucson.
