Elon Musk says he regrets some of his posts about President Trump

(NBC, KYMA/KECY) - Elon Musk is backing off from "some" of the comments he made about President Donald Trump and his so-called "big, beautiful bill."

Musk posted a message on X early Wednesday morning. It reads: "I regret some of my posts about president @realdonaldtrump last week. They went too far."

However, the world's richest man did not specify which of his posts he was referring to.

Last week, Musk called President Trump's budget bill a "disgusting abomination" which would land the U.S. in unsustainable debt, writing "shame on those who voted for it."

Trump said last Saturday he was disappointed with Musk and suggested the U.S. government could cut lucrative government deals with Musk's businesses.

Musk then responded with another post connecting the president with late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. He also replied, "Yes" to another X user who suggested Trump should be impeached.

The massive budget bill passed the house and is now in the hands of the Senate.
