Visas reinstated for international students at UNLV

LAS VEGAS (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - Thousands of international students at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas (UNLV) are breathing a sigh of relief after President Donald Trump reversed his decision to revoke visas of students who participated in protests or had previous legal violations.

UNLV confirmed all seven of its international students affected by the initial decision have had their visas reinstated.

The students were part of a national sweep that saw more than a thousand international student visas revoked across the country.

The Trump Administration recently announced it would back off from the legal fight over immigration enforcement that led to these visa terminations.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement now says it's developing a new policy for how immigration records are reviewed.
