(CNN, KYMA/KECY) - Police have made two arrests in the theft of Kristi Noem's purse.

The Homeland Security Secretary had her Gucci bag stolen while she ate dinner with her family at a Washington, D.C. restaurant on Easter.

A law enforcement source says that a primary suspect was arrested in Washington, D.C. and is now in custody.

A second person that authorities believe may be a co-conspirator was also arrested in Miami, Florida. More arrests are expected to be made as investigators reportedly are looking at a theft ring that recently has been targeting district's of Penn Quarter.

Noem lost a number of items during the theft including her wallet, her driver's license, apartment keys, passport, her department security badge, and around $3,000 in cash.

The Secret Service said Sunday that the primary suspect did not target Noem. She thanked the Secret Service and Immigration and Customs Enforcement in a post on social media.
