UPDATE: CHP says lanes are open after I-8 eastbound closure and scene is cleared
The incident is on Interstate 8 eastbound near Mountain Springs Road
UPDATE (11 AM) - CHP said lanes are currently being opened. The vehicle has also been recovered.
(KYMA, KECY) - The California Highway Patrol (CHP) is advising commuters that Interstate 8 eastbound will be shut down at In-Ko-Pah Road due to a vehicle hanging over a cliff that may potentially fall onto the freeway.
According to CHP, there is a vehicle on an unknown road that travels between the westbound and eastbound lanes of Interstate 8 near Mountain Springs.
CHP said they will send an update when the freeway is opened.
