Police pursuit results in vehicle rollover on 32nd Street in Yuma
Multiple agencies found at the scene as shown in footage
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - On Monday, at around 6:20 p.m. police responded to a robbery at Walmart on 32nd Street.
A press release from Yuma Police Department stated that the hispanic male entered the business and attempted to leave without paying for the items in his possession.
The suspect was confronted by an employee for which he proceeded to drop the items and display a handgun at the associate.
The man fled the scene in a Chevy Silverado.
The license plates were obtained and it was discovered that the vehicle had been stolen out of California.
The male was identified as Antonio Gutierrez-Ceballos who is wanted for multiple felony warrants.
On March 30 at around 7:30 a.m., two days after the Walmart robbery, a YPD officer located the stolen vehicle.
With the assistance of Arizona Department of Public Safety Gang & Immigration Intelligence Team Enforcement Mission and Arizona Vehicle Theft Task Force, the vehicle was tracked to Avenue 9E.
Gutierrez-Ceballos attempted to hit a detective with the vehicle when the officers made contact and proceeded to flee the scene at a high rate of speed.
The vehicle collided with a brick wall as it attempted to avoid a Semi truck.
Gutierrez-Ceballos was taken into custody and treated at YRMC for minor injuries.
After being treated, the man was incarcerated at the Yuma County Detention Center on numerous felony offenses.
