Politics: One on One with AZ Attorney General candidate Abe Hamadeh

Hamadeh is a former prsecutor with the Maricopa Prosecutor's office and an Itelligence Officer in the U.S. Army Reserves

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - We opened up the floor with a simple question, why? Hamadeh tells us that after a 14-month deployment overseas he didn't recognize the state he fought to defend.

Riding on the Republican ticket Hamadeh set his sights on the Attorney General's Office. Hamadeh is no stranger to the law having graduated with his doctorate in law from the University of Arizona.

He also served as a prosecutor at the Maricopa County Prosecutor's Office. He says that that experience is tied to his experience as an Intelligence Officer in the U.S. Army Reserves is exactly what Arizona needs to succeed.

I asked Hamadeh what he would do if elected and he explained that there would be no downtime and that voters would see immediate action from his office. At the top of his to-do list is opening up offices at crucial points along the border primarily Yuma and Cochise Counties.

According to Hamadeh, the blame doesn't just fall on democrats, but weak republicans.

I asked Hamadeh if he believed his age would hurt him, seeing on how the candidate is just 30-years old. Hamadeh confidently answered telling me that his age is a positive factor in his campaign. According to Hamadeh, his supporters love his energy and tenacity.

Now, Hamabeh pointed out that although the border is one of his top targets, that's not all that needs repair. Hamadeh looks to strengthen the electoral process, protect gun rights, assist law enforcement and create a new program to help service members.
