Christmas on the Colorado

The first annual Christmas on the Colorado event is scheduled for December 1st from 3:00 P.M. to 8 P.M.

Tickets are now on sale at the Yuma Crossing National Heritage Office, 180 W. 1st Street, Monday through Friday 8 A.M. to 5 P.M.

Cash, check and credit card are accepted.

On Saturdays and Sundays from 9 A.M. to 5 P.M., tickets will be sold cash only at the Colorado River State Historic Park, 201 N. 4th Ave.

The event will happen at the Yuma Crossing National Heritage Area.

Tickets are sold for $20 for ages 12 and under.

Included with this price is a picture with Santa, a Christmas ornament, face painting, a bell from Santa, hot chocolate and cookies and train rides.

At dusk, The Polar Express movie will begin.

Tickets are $5 for ages 13 and up which will include admission and the movie.

Food and drinks will be available for separate purchase.

The community is encouraged to bring blankets, a chair, and picnic dinner.

Only 300 children’s tickets and 200 adult tickets are available.

Sarah Halligan, communications specialist for the Heritage Area says this event was created to bring Christmas to Yuma in case families can’t travel to celebrate the holiday
