ARRP and Campesinos Sin Fronteras to host binational health-week

Locals in Yuma gathered at the Martin Luther King Center for the annual Binational Health Week, hosted by Arizona’s American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) along with Campesinos Sin Fronteras.

Residents had the opportunity to learn more about how to apply for Medicare and Social Security.

Executive Director of Campesinos Sin Fronteras Emma Torres said that the actions that are taken now will affect families and future generations to come.

“Personally, they are not benefiting right now, perhaps their parents or grandparents. But any impact on Medicare or Social Security benefits impacts the whole family,” said Torres.

Campesinos Sin Fronteras will also be offering health screenings and blood pressure exams for the community.
