What you need to know about voting in the primary elections on Tuesday
Arizona’s primary election is Tuesday, August 28.
Though the voter registration deadline has passed, there are a few things you need to know as a voter.
In order to secure your ability to vote, you must bring a valid form of identification such as a driver’s license or passport.
If you do not have a valid driver’s license, you can bring another form of photo identification such as a passport along with a utility bill to prove that voter lives at the residence.
Paul Melcher, interim elections director and deputy county administrator said, “anybody can vote at any voting center.”
Because voting information can be looked up universally from any voting center, there are no restrictions like there were in the past.
There are a total of nine voting centers including the Martin Luther King Jr. Neighborhood Center, the Yuma County Health Dept., Community Christian Church, Somerton Library, First Southern Baptist Church of Wellton, Cesar Chavez Cultural Center and San Luis Library.
There are also two “mega voting centers” at the Yuma Civic Center and St. John Neumann Catholic Church.
Polling locations will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., but voters in line after 7 may still have an opportunity to vote.
