News 11 Weather Authority: Higher heat continues

May 13th, 2021

YUMA, Ariz., (KYMA, KECY) - Even though the latest ridge of high pressure continues to hold firm over much of the West, we've only had a minimal temperature increase in parts of the Desert Southwest.

Daytime highs in both Yuma and El Centro have only reached 99 degrees, unlike other areas in both Yuma and Imperial Counties that actually made it to the low triple digits.

We can expect an encore of the heat for Friday, before a weak disturbance from the Pacific Northwest will usher in some breezes and milder temperatures.
