One taken to hospital after crash on I-8 near Tacna

The roadway has been reopened

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - UPDATE (11:30 A.M.)

ADOT says the roadway is opened after a two vehicle crash.

The incident happened around 6 a.m. westbound I-8 at milepost 48. ADOT says the collision involved a pickup truck and a FedEx truck. Paramedics took one person to the hospital after being trapped in the vehicle for a short time.

No other injuries were reported.

ORIGINAL STORY

The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) says the westbound lanes of Interstate 8 at milepost 54 near Tacna are closed due to a crash.

ADOT says traffic is exiting at milepost 54, and the detour is at Old U.S. 80 Highway. Motorists can re-enter the I-8 at milepost 42.
