Imperial sweeps Grossmont to advance to quarterfinals

IMPERIAL, Calif. (KYMA) - The Imperial Tigers swept the Grossmont Foothillers in three sets to advance to the quarterfinals.

Imperial showcased its defensive ability in the second set when Aryelle Lopez came up with a block and recovery to keep the rally alive. Jazzy Jiminez capitalized on the opportunity, catching Grossmont off guard to secure the point for the Tigers.

Grossmont responded on the next point, with Kendall Ramirez serving the ball over the net before the Foothillers set up junior outside hitter Imani Hayes for a well-placed kill.

Imperial continued to make its presence felt defensively, highlighted by an impressive dig from Macy-Jo Clayton. The Tigers turned that defensive effort into offense as Ryan Kelly delivered a powerful kill to finish the rally.

Imperial's three-set victory sends the Tigers to the quarterfinals, where they will face Escondido Charter.
