Three streaming giants launch policy group

(NBC, KYMA) - Some of the biggest names in streaming are joining forces on Capitol Hill.

Netflix, Amazon, and YouTube announced Monday they have formed the "Streaming Access and Choice Alliance," a lobbying group based in Washington, D.C.

The group said it will represent the interest of streaming platforms and push for policies it says support competition and consumer choice.

The alliance comes as streaming companies face growing criticism over rising subscription costs, while more live sports programming moves from traditional television to streaming platforms.

In addition, the group said it will advocate for technology-neutral policies that allow streaming services to continue investing in a wide range of programming, including live sports.
