High school graduate in Louisiana breaks into dance after receiving diploma

BATON ROUGE, La. (CBS, KYMA) - A student broke out into a dance after receiving her diploma at GEO Next Generation High School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana Tuesday.

Brittney Ford, @poeticpaige35 on Instagram, posted the footage showing her former student, A'Myria Marquee, in a joyous dance after receiving her diploma.

On Instagram, Ford wrote that she has known Marquee since she was in first grade.

"When you slammed the diploma down, I knew it was up from there," Ford wrote in the caption.

According to news outlet WAFB, students at GEO Next Generation High School, in partnership with Baton Rouge Community College, can earn a high school diploma and a college degree.

In a separate Instagram post, Marquee said she was graduating high school with an associate degree and would be starting college as a junior.
