San Pasqual comes back to beat Somerton and win three straight

The Warriors prevailed in come back fashion in this back-and-forth fight to win three straight for the first time since 2019

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA) - The San Pasqual Warriors rallied all the way back down 20 to defeat the Somerton Toros 76-74 Friday night at Warrior Gym.

With the win, it's the Warriors third straight win, marking the first time they have done that since 2019.

The Toros started out hot, jumping to as much as an 11 point lead right out the gate, and building a 20 point lead by the end of the first quarter, scoring over 30 in the first frame.

It looked like Somerton was going to run away with the game, but once the second half came around, San Pasqual turned it around.

Senior Isaiah Martinez finished with a 29-point, 14-rebound double-double to lead the Warriors in their tremendous comeback.

Jordan Rae also had a double-double, cashing in 11 points and 11 rebounds, while Jesus Saavedra added another 11 points and had six assists.

With the win, San Pasqual advance to 3-16 while Somerton drops to 1-15 on the season.

The Warriors last game of the season is this Tuesday at home against Great Hearts Anthem.

Meanwhile, the Toros will hit the road for their final game of the season on Monday against Highland Prep.
