Vice President JD Vance and his wife to lead U.S. delegation to opening ceremony of 2026 Winter Olympics

(NBC, KYMA) - Vice President JD Vance and his wife Usha will lead a U.S. delegation to the opening ceremony of the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Milan, Italy.

The White House released a statement Saturday announcing the members of the presidential delegation.

Vice President Vance will be joined by Secretary of State Marco Rubio as well as U.S. ambassador to Italy Tilman Feritta and former Olympic gold medalists.

The Milan-Cortina Winter Games will kick off with the opening ceremony on February 6 in Milan.

The Olympic athletes participating in the delegation in include Jocelyne Lamoureux-Davidson and Monique Lamoureux-Morando, twin sisters who were members of the 2018 ice hockey team, figure skater Evan Lysacek, the gold medalist in 2010, and Apolo Ohno, who won the gold medal in 2002 and 2006.
