‘Wicked: For Good’ breaks box office records

(NBC, KYMA) - "Wicked: For Good" posted a magical opening weekend at the box office.

The highly-anticipated sequel is now number one domestically, conjuring $150 million in ticket sales and $226 million worldwide over the weekend. That's the biggest opening ever for a Broadway adaptation.

Last year, "Wicked" brought in $112.5 million on its opening weekend.

"A Minecraft Movie" did have the biggest opening weekend so far this year pulling in $163 million at the box office back in April.
