Padres take series win versus Red Sox on Sunday

SAN DIEGO (KYMA, KECY) - The San Diego Padres closed out their series with a convincing 6–2 win against the Boston Red Sox.

Dylan Cease got the start on the mound and delivered an outstanding performance, going over six innings while allowing just two runs on four hits, walking two, and striking out seven.

The scoring got rolling in the bottom of the third when Luis Arraez launched a two‑run double. Fernando Tatis Jr. added an RBI single in the fifth, and Xander Bogaerts extended the lead with a run‑scoring single in the sixth. Jake Cronenworth padded the lead with an RBI on a bases-loaded walk.

The Red Sox battled back in the top of the seventh, scoring both their runs thanks to an error by Bogaerts, but couldn't capitalize beyond that.

The Padres bullpen, Jason Adam, Adrian Morejon, and closer David Morgan, shut the door, striking out the side and sealing the 6–2 victory.
