Dutch Bros gives back on Valentines Day with ‘Dutch Luv’
Grand opening for Yuma's first Dutch Bros location
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY)- Friday, Feb. 14, Dutch Bros Yuma is opening its first location at 1512 S 4th Ave.
On Feb. 14, Dutch Bros celebrates Dutch Luv day by donating $1 from every drink sold to a local food organization.
The country’s largest independent drive-thru coffee company is raising awareness and funds to help combat hunger and food insecurity in its local communities.
One dollar from every drink sold will go to local nonprofits across seven states.
“This is personal for all of us. We all know someone who has struggled with food insecurity,” said co-founder and CEO of Dutch Bros, Travis Boersma.
“Our broistas, franchisees, operators and customers are committed to working together to share the Dutch Luv and make a massive difference in our communities.”
Dutch Bros and its customers have supported organizations working to defeat hunger for 14 years.
Dutch Luv Day began as a canned food drive in 2007 and has grown into an annual, one-day fundraising event. Harnessing the impact of more than 370 locations in seven states, every dollar raised goes to an organization that addresses a community’s specific needs.
The store, located on 4th Avenue and 16th Street, across the street from Sprouts Farmers Market and Jersey Mike's Subs, will be open from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. according to Rachel Roe, Dutch Bros franchise owner.
They do plan on opening a second location, yet to be determined.
Dutch Bros Coffee was founded in 1992 by Dane and Travis Boersma, brothers of Dutch descent.
Today, Dutch Bros Coffee has more than 290 locations in seven states and 7,500 employees.
Loyal customers call themselves the Dutch Mafia.
