Ukraine’s Zelenskyy urges Britain to help it strike deeper inside Russia as he addresses UK Cabinet

Associated Press

LONDON (AP) — Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has urged Britain’s new government to help Kyiv’s forces attack deeper inside Russia to stop deadly missile strikes. He made the appeal during a rare address by a foreign leader to a U.K. Cabinet meeting. Zelenskyy said “long-range capability” to destroy sites where Russian weapons are concentrated is key to Ukraine’s defense. He particularly wants to target locations Russian forces are using to attack civilian targets in Ukraine. In a bilateral meeting with the Ukrainian president, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said his government will “double down” in support for Kyiv. The last foreign leader invited to address a Cabinet meeting in person was U.S. President Bill Clinton in 1997.
