2024 presidential candidate visits Yuma County

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - A presidential candidate is in Yuma less than two months after announcing his bid to run against Joe Biden in the 2024 election.

The Yuma Sector border was just one of the many stops Robert F. Kennedy Jr. made during his two day tour of Yuma County.

He also spoke with several local leaders like, Sheriff Leon Wilmot, Regional Center for Border Health President and CEO Amanda Aguirre, Yuma Regional Medical Center's President and CEO Robert Trenschel and local agriculture leaders.

In April, Kennedy announced his candidacy for the Democratic nomination in the 2024 presidential election.

Born to a political family, Kennedy is the nephew of America’s 35th President, John F. Kennedy (JFK) and the son of Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy (RFK). Both of them lost their lives to the assassin’s bullet: JFK in 1963, and RFK Sr. in the midst of his 1968 Presidential campaign.

Aside from his presidential campaign, Kennedy is an environmental lawyer and writer.
