MS-13 gang member arrested in Calexico

CALEXICO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY)- A previously deported MS-13 gang member was arrested last Sunday near the Calexico Port of Entry, according to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

CBP says record checks revealed the man as 40-year-old Jose Ernesto Umana-Quevedo, a Salvadorian national.

According to agents, Umana is a self-admitted Mara Salvatrucha MS-13 gang member with a criminal history.

Umana is being held in federal custody pending further criminal prosecution.
