Border Patrol captures two convicted sex offenders in Calexico

CALEXICO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY)-Border agents arrest two convicted sex offenders in Calexico over the weekend.

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection said agents, assigned to the El Centro Station arrested a man suspected of illegally entering the U.S., approximately 13 miles west of the Calexico Downtown Port of Entry.

After transporting him to the station, record checks identified the man as 52-year-old Ricardo Saucedo Hernandez, a Mexican national who was convicted in April 2003 for Annoying or Molesting Children Under 18.

CBP says Saucedo received a fine and four months in jail for his conviction.

Saucedo was removed from the U.S., in September 2017.

Agents assigned to the Calexico Station arrested a man 16 miles east of the Calexico Port of Entry. Record checks identified him as 37-year-old Armando Valenzuela Salazar, a Mexican national who was convicted on February 2011 for Sexual Battery out of North Carolina.

Valenzuela served two months in jail for his conviction.

Valenzuela was removed from the U.S., in March 2011.

According to CBP, both men are being held in federal custody pending further criminal prosecution.
