AWC Student Recital showcases hard work

Students bring classics to the Foothills

The Gloria de Cristo Lutheran Church was packed, but no one made a sound as students played for the attentive crowd.

The Arizona Western College (AWC) Music Department held its formal Student recital this afternoon, a musical event that was free and open to the public.

The recital demonstrates the progress instrumental and vocal students have achieved through out the semester, aided in part by private lessons.

But of course, it also takes a large amount of dedication and practice to confidently play in front of such a large crowd.

The event featured a variety of musical groups and soloists, showing off their talents and hard work.

The audience was completely captivated throughout the classical performances, ranging from vocalists, band instruments, and strings.

Each soloist and ensemble received a large round of applause after their performance, with the audience eager to hear the next.
