Trailer fire in Imperial County lights up night sky

Imperial County Fire tells KYMA News that a 53 foot trailer caught fire on Wednesday night

EL CENTRO, Calif. ( KYMA, KECY-TV ) - A 53 foot trailer containing tents and potted plants caught fire after the bricks surrounding the plants got to hot. The information was passed over from the Imperial County Fire Department to KYMA's Karina Bazarte.

A semi-truck was attached to the trailer when the fire broke out the Imperial Fire Department told Bazarte. The driver was able to detach the truck from the trailer, no injuries were reported. A portion of Interstate 8 near El Centro was reduced to one lane while fire crews continued to monitor the fire for flare ups and clean up the area.
