University of Alabama student athlete faces capital murder
(CNN, KYMA/KECY) - A basketball player with the University of Alabama is accused of murder after a deadly shooting near the campus.
Police arrested Darius Miles of Washington D.C. Sunday.
Investigators say Miles and another man, Michael Lynn Davis of Charles County, Maryland allegedly fired into a vehicle with two people inside.
A woman, Jamea Jonae Harris was hit and later died from her wounds.
Police say the shooting happened after the two groups got into an argument while they were driving near an area of the campus known as the strip.
Miles and Davis are currently jailed without bond and miles is no longer a member of the basketball team.
