A series of storms arrives for the holiday weekend

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY-TV) - An unsettled weather pattern will take over our region bringing in a series of storms coming from the Pacific.

With this active weather pattern, it will bring some impacts to the Desert Southwest that will include cooler, wet and breezier conditions.

For our Martin Luther King holiday weekend, we have multiple days with rain in our forecast that is expected to begin as early as Saturday night and will linger into Monday.

By Sunday, cooler temperatures and breezier conditions are expected to arrive with wind gusts of 20-25 MPH for most areas in Yuma and Imperial county.

With all the rain opportunities within our area, rain accumulation is possible, but is looking light.

Gustier winds will stay off to the west, where a Wind Advisory has been issued for the southwest corner and western part of Imperial County on Saturday evening - Sunday morning.

Winds will be coming from the southwest ranging our wind speeds to 20-30 MPH with gusts up to 50 MPH.
