Quiet and drier weather for Friday

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY-TV) - A pacific storm is impacting northern and southern California bringing heavy rain, gusty winds, and snow for higher elevation areas.

Here in the Desert Southwest, we are experiencing cloudy skies and very slight rain chances for Southeastern California.

The weakening weather system will depart within our region this evening.

Breezy conditions will be hanging around Imperial County with the highest gusts of 30 MPH will be possible through the rest of tonight before calming down tomorrow morning.

By tomorrow, quiet weather will settle with drier conditions, and slightly warmer temperatures will arrive toward the end of the weekend and into early next week.

The next chance for the Desert Southwest to experience some precipitation is expected by next Tuesday.
